Carnival Celebration

Carnival Celebration – large newbuilding project completed

Trident BMC LLC has completed a large project on the newbuilding Carnival Celebration cruise vessel. It has been completed with the highest standards, in record time, and ready for the 50th Anniversary of the Carnival Cruise Line! We thank Meyer Turku, and, of course, Carnival Cruise Line for trusting us. Trident is a big family; in Europe, the Italian and Polish branches are delivering top-quality services for cruise newbuilds, the most demanding shipping sector, which is why the building of cruises continues in Europe.

What exactly did we deliver? In this project, carried out by Meyer Turku from Finland, one of the largest shipyards in Europe, we built and furnished several areas of the ship:

?Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse Terrace Bar,
?Carnivale Restaurant (American Table Restaurant),
?Emeril’s Bistro,
?Carnival Kitchen,
?Dreams Studio,
?Decorative Glass Staircase,
?Public restrooms,
?Esplanade corridors.
?Hotel Director’s Office
?Technical Crew Corridor

Our scope of supply included engineering, background outfitting (electrical, piping, HVAC), fabrication of furniture and bar structures, and outfitting. The total area of our scope exceeded 1,800 sqm and the project execution time was 20 months after the contract signature.

Carnival Celebration is a unique vessel. With 180,000 GT, it will become the largest ship in Carnival’s fleet. And it is also unique because, unlike its sister ship, Mardi Gras, it will have the word Carnival before Celebration to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the company. The ship belongs to the so-called Excel class and, as Mardi Grass, will also be powered by LNG.

The cruise has already begun its 14-day transatlantic voyage from London (Southampton) to its homeport of PortMiami. And for a new ship, a new terminal: Carnival Celebration will arrive at a redesigned Terminal F at PortMiami. The cruise will have its inaugural sailing from Miami on November 21st.

We want to thank Meyer Turku Team, Carnival Cruise Line Nb Team, and all our technicians for their effort, support, and engagement in this project.

Below, look at some pictures of the work we have done!

And one final word: If you will visit the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo in London later this month (November 30th-December 1st), stop at our stand (718) and allow us to share our experience on furnishing some of the most incredible cruises sailing around the corners of the sea.

Shore-to-Ship solution

C-AMP 7500D Shore Power

Ship-to-shore connection allows to shut down the ship’s auxiliary engines during port staying. Land-based sources provide all needed energy.
The main achieved benefits are no fuel consumption, reduced GHG and air-polluting emissions, reduced noise level, and reduced running hours and maintenance on auxiliary engines. It’s also an important step toward shipping decarbonization, improving the Carbon Intensity Index (CII).

We are proud to introduce our dedicated shore power solution C-AMP 7500D. Don’t hesitate to contact us at bmc@tridentllc.com to learn how our turnkey, tailor-made shore-power solution can be easily integrated with your vessels.

EGCS

Scrubber system installation on Cruise Ship

Trident BMC, with more than 230 scrubber towers installations completed, continues to support its customers with implementation of EGCS on merchant and cruise ships. The increasing prices of marine fuels, and wider price spread, makes the shipowners with scrubbers already installed in a good position.
Currently our team of technicians deployed in Persian Gulf, is coming to the end of the installation of another Exhaust Gas Cleaning System on a cruise vessel, consisting of three scrubber towers. Due to limited access, all main components and scrubber towers are being transported into the chimney in small elements for final assembling. Trident BMC is continuing to grow its expertise in various sustainable technologies and is available to support with your implementation, successfully and with minimized downtime.

HVAC

Design and supply of the complete HVAC-system on Global Mercy

We are happy and proud to have contributed with the design and supply of the complete HVAC-system including control and automation onboard the world’s largest civilian hospital ship “Global Mercy”.
Our scope of supply includes HVAC and Automation Engineering and System design, equipment delivery as well as commissioning of the systems. The equipment delivery includes 40+ Air Handling Units, 4 Chillers (2 in operation + 2 stand-by) with cooling capacity of around 2,5 MW each for the chilled water system, Provision Refrigeration Plant, 100+ fans, around 20 Fan Coil Units, around 15 Self Contained Units, Heating & Cooling coils, 500+ Air Terminal Devices, 150+ dampers, Frequency Converters, Heat exchangers, Pumps, Valves, Electrical Starters and field instrumentation.
The requirements for the HVAC-system are at highest level in general as the Global Mercy mainly will be operating in very demanding surroundings and docked in harbors for long periods. A special challenge worth to mention is the conditioning of the 6 fully equipped operation theaters. In the operation theaters the air distribution must be designed so that the fresh air, which is filtered by HEPA filters, passes the operation area without getting mixed with contaminated air. Each operating theater is furthermore served by a dedicated AHU and the temperature is controlled to be kept between +19 and +22°C.
The Global Mercy will soon join the current flagship Africa Mercy, more than doubling the impact of volunteers and services provided by the charity. For more information about Mercy Ships, updates on Global Mercy or how to volunteer or donate, please visit: http://www.mercyships.org

The 174-meter, 37,000-ton ship will have six operating rooms and house over 600 volunteers from around the globe representing many disciplines including surgeons, maritime crew, cooks, teachers, electricians, the host staff and more. The ship will also feature a 682-seat auditorium, student academy, gymnasium, pool, café, shop and library – all of which have been designed to accommodate up to 950 crew onboard when docked in port.

LARGEST TURNKEY SCRUBBER RETROFIT

AFTER COMPLETING THE WORLD’S LARGEST TURNKEY SCRUBBER RETROFIT,

Baltec Marine WINS 18 MORE CONTRACTS

January 25, 2019
As ship owners all over the world rush to install scrubbers in time for the 2020 Sulphur Cap, Baltec Marine is pleased to announce completion of the world’s largest turnkey scrubber retrofit of two hybrid systems. Based on the success of these two pilot projects, the company has been contracted to oversee 18 additional Ultra Large Container Ships in 2019.

“The ship owner turned to us from the start because they did not want to handle the work in-house, and they knew our team had the experience necessary to drive a project of this size,” says Ronnie Petersson, Baltec Marine’s Executive Director.

The installation work took place while the 16000 TEU vessels were in dry dock in Shenzhen, China, starting in October of 2018. “Given the quick turnaround required, the fact that we could manage to contract the shipyard directly was a big advantage,” adds Managing Director Andrzej Dzienski.

The massive undertaking consisted of two pilot projects in which Baltec oversaw every step, from engineering to the commissioning of two different hybrid scrubber systems. The company plans to replicate their success when they install 18 more systems back-to-back for the same client in 2019.
